Lutwyche Windsor Kindergarten and Preschool has provided a quality service for preschool aged children and their families for over 70 years. The service was first opened on 28th August 1947 as Lutwyche Childcare Centre with an attendance of 11 children. 

 

The premises consisted of an Army Hut that was erected as a temporary residence until a more permanent site could be found and a proper building erected. In late 1960, the current building was finished at a cost of £6,000. Due to a continuing collaborative effort and commitment from staff, parents and community, Lutwyche Windsor Kindergarten has continued to grow, improve and evolve to meet the needs of current families and plan for those of the future.

Lutwyche Windsor Kindergarten and Preschool is located on Turrbul Land and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We are committed to reconciliation and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the first custodians of the land. Our team recognises that we can learn from our First People’s deep connection to Country and their role in caring for and maintaining Country over thousands of years. We believe that children provide a strong voice for change and by embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our program, these children will continue to support our hopes for reconciliation now and into the future.
